Occupation : Homegrown Production Sdn Bhd.


Michael was born, raised and educated in Penang. He graduated from University Sains Malaysia majoring in English and Mass Communication. He began his foray into broadcasting by joining TV3 for 8 years and was, during his term promoted to Senior Producer. He left to work with Channel (V) for 2 years before returning to Media Prima to pioneer the then newly-launched channel 8TV as a consultant for Urban Content Department in 2003.He left the station in 2005 with creative gems like “The Quickie” and “Latte@8” and founded Homegrown Production Sdn Bhd.

After four years Homegrown Production has produced some impressive content for local networks, providing formats and groundbreaking and mostly entertainment programs which have enriched the local TV scene with its own unique brand.

He produced both seasons of the high-profiled Malaysian Idols, One In A Million, Destinasi Bajet, Raja Lawak, Lawakking, Jozan Show, Homegrown season 1, 2, 3 to name a few.
In 2007, Michael initiated and eventually started a ministry among the street kids in Kota Kinabalu. Together with friends they started a feeding program as well as education program among them. Today, they feed almost 800 kids every week and the ‘school’ they initiated attended by more than 150 kids.

Michael is married with Ivy, they have 2 sons. They worship at Metro Tabernacle in Kuala Lumpur and are also alumnis of the School Of Acts.
